The Strange Case of Kristopher Sickles and the Hutaree Militia

One of the men arrested in the FBI and Homeland Security raids on the Hutaree Militia in Michigan last weekend appeared on the Alex Jones Show in 2009 after it was widely suspected he was a government operative.
Kristopher Sickles, aka “Pale Horse,” produced a film about serial murder in 2009.
Kristopher Sickles, aka “Pale Horse” (a reference to the late William Cooper’s book Behold a Pale Horse), is named in the federal indictment against members of the Hutaree Militia. He is reportedly a member of the Ohio Militia.
It turns out he is probably not a government operative as originally suspected — at least not consciously — and is instead a mentally ill individual who joined the Hutaree in order to realize his perverse fantasies.
In October of 2008, Sickles posted a video on YouTube. Dressed in military fatigues, wearing a camouflaged balaclava over his face, and cradling an AR-15 carbine, he calls on Americans to arm themselves. “Things are bad. Things are real bad, and it’s going to be a lot worse — our country is in peril,” he declares. The video was viewed more than 70,000 times before YouTube removed it.
In April of the following year, Pale Horse posted another video on YouTube. In the second video, he calls for a demonstration of at least one million armed militia men marching on Washington. “No shooting, no one gets hurt. Just a demonstration,” he explains. “The only difference from any typical demonstration is we will all be armed.” He specifically mentions Alex Jones in the video.

Soon after the first video drew attention, accusations arose that Sickles, then known only as Pale Horse, was a government operative and his video was specifically designed to portray legitimate state militias in a negative and sinister light. In fact, the corporate media did use the Ohio Militia video as part of its campaign to demonize the patriot movement in 2009.
On August 17, 2009, Alex Jones interviewed Pale Horse after the corporate media exploited him as part of its ongoing propaganda offensive.
“Either you were doing this to get attention, knowing that putting this mystique on [Pale Horse's use of a voice changer in the video], as you call it, would make the media pick up on what you were saying — because it was useful to them — or you are a Adam Gadahn type fed or foundation hired person meant to make the militias look dangerous and fringe and bad,” said Jones.

Adam Gadahn is the American media spokesman for al-Qaeda and widely regarded as an intelligence operative. Gadahn is the first American charged with treason by the U.S. government since 1952.
Alex characterized Pale Horse’s video effort as an “art project” intended to draw attention to himself and the Ohio Militia. During the interview, Sickle described himself and the Ohio Militia as legitimate and not part of a disinformation or intelligence operation designed to discredit the larger militia movement. See the video below.
According to the Irregular Times, however, there is a darker and more perverse side to Kristopher Sickles. He is not a constitutionalist or mainstream militia member. “For Kristopher Sickles, who used the Hutaree pseudonym ‘Pale Horse,’ Christianity served as a perfect combination of righteous indignation and an excuse to behave in inexcusable ways. In particular, Sickles found in Christianity an excuse to kill people.”
Sickles released a film in 2009 he had written and directed entitled Dement Incarnate. The main character of the film is a serial killer who is depicted reveling in the slaughter of a young child. Sickles created a MySpace page on the film.

The fascination Sickles has with serial killing is particularly fascinating when it is considered in the context of a shorter film Sickles made: American Jihad. That video depicts a fantasy sequence of a businessman happening upon an Islamic terrorist hideout in rural Michigan. Men in camouflage shout Muslim catch phrases as they torture and kill the businessman. The interesting thing is that the deadly terrorists, in their rural Michigan hideout, are quite like the group Kris Sickles aligned himself with. The only difference is that the Hutarees practice a different religion.
We now know that Kristopher Sickles, as Alex Jones speculated, is little more than a self-absorbed poseur who lives in a violent fantasy world. The Hutaree Militia allowed him the possibility of realizing his warped and sadistic fantasies.
Irregular Times continues:
Considering American Jihad [another violent film produced by Sickles], we see that Pale Horse Kris Sickles was, consciously or not, using these videos he created as a way of contemplating his own violent desires. In both videos, he copes with his own guilty interest in killing by depicting the murderers as his enemies: Muslims and other non-Christians. However, as much as he attempts to place the urge to murder outside of himself, the reflection of Sickles’s own fascination emerges clear as day. The very sadism he accuses others of in order to justify their murder is a cruelty he harbors within himself.
The Michigan Militia quickly moved to put an end to any speculation that it was associated with the Hutaree Militia. On the United States Militia message board yesterday, a post emphatically decried any association:

Please convey to the fools that are propagating this dis-information that it is the Hutaree, an extreme right Christian group that has been targeted and members from Ohio… along with some people affiliated with the Hutaree. I can tell you that the Michigan Militia Corp Wolverines, SMVM, WMVM, WCMVM and any other affiliated units of ours have NOT been targeted and we have no knowledge of any Michigan Militia member being arrested. The Hutaree is NOT the Michigan Militia and they are NOT a Constitutional based militia but rather a biblical based militant group.
As of this writing, it appears Mr. Sickles is not a government operative, although as history repeatedly demonstrates the FBI is not beyond exploiting such mentally unstable individuals in its effort to demonize the establishment’s enemies.
Sickles is entirely responsible for his fate. His association with the Hutaree is more about his violent fantasies than restoring the republic and demanding the federal government respect and obey the Constitution.
